2021 Kia Telluride Vs. Hyundai Palisade
Viewed from a distance, the Kia Telluride and the Hyundai Palisade can easily be seen as sisters or brothers. Only when you take a closer look do you really understand the real differences. There’s not much of a difference between the two in terms of asking price, although the Telluride is a bit cheaper. Here’s a comparison between the two SUVs on different fronts, this is the Kia Telluride SX with Nightfall package versus the Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy:
- Cargo Capacity– The Kia Telluride has more cargo space with up to 21 cubic feet behind the rear seats and a total volume of 87 cubic feet. The palisade has a cargo capacity of 18 cubic feet behind the rear seats for a total of 86.4 cubic feet.
- Exterior Designs– Both SUVs are available in bold and stylish exterior designs; However, buyers will find that Hyundai’s grille is significantly larger and brighter than Kia’s daytime running lights. LED and LED headlights appear more clearly on the palisade. Get fog lights and not the stockade. 20-inch alloy wheels are present on both vehicles and are the same length. Vertical LED taillights look very similar on both.
- Side Mirrors– Both models are available with heated side mirrors with blind spot indicators, but only those on the 2021 Kia Telluride are power-folding.
- Safety– The complete safety suites on both vehicles are available as Active features for all trims. These include:
- Automatic Braking
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Automatic High Beams
- Warranty– Different warranties are almost the same but there is a slight addition in complimentary maintenance for Hyundai Palisade, as seen below:
- Basic Warranty– 10 years or 100,000 miles (common)
- Powertrain Warranty– 5 years or 60,000 miles (common)
- Complementary Maintenance– 3 years (Hyundai)
- Towing Capacity– If the similarities weren’t enough already, the two SUV’s also have the same towing capacities of 5,000 pounds with auto leveling suspensions
- Seats– The driver’s seats in both vehicles are electrically adjustable and have different seat seams. Both also offer storage configurations for two people. However, the palisade offers a 4-way lumbar adjustment that is not available on the Telluride. different, with Telluride giving a smoother feel.
- Interiors– Both vehicles have better interiors than others in their class. The 2021 Hyundai Palisade is available with a 12.3-inch color display for the instrument cluster. In comparison, the 2021 Kia Telluride stays with a more traditional analog look. More customization and the wow factor. The Hyundai Palisade offers more storage space at the front.
- Engines– Even the hearts of the two vehicles are the same, they both have 3.8-liter V6s under their respective hoods that produce 291 horsepower and 262 lbs.-ft of torque. The same 8-speed automatic transmission is also present in the two three-speed SUVs.
- Driving Dynamics– In terms of driving control, the Telluride is a little tighter than the Palisade, but the Palisade offers a slightly smoother ride. Both vehicles are very quiet inside. The palisade stops relatively more predictably.
