Power and Handling of the Kia Stinger

The 2018 Kia Stinger is a stylish all-new vehicle with extra driving fun. This sedan was given an overall more graceful sleeker look that improves upon its speed, fuel economy, and driving capability. While the Stinger is quite fully loaded with fun technology and features like leather upholstery, a 15-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a hands-free trunk lid, front and rear parking sensors, heated and ventilated seats, and so much more, the real fun comes from its driving abilities.

With features like a limited-slip differential, additional performance meters, a head-up display, a launch control system, 19-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, adaptive suspension dampers, aluminum pedals, scuff plates, variable steering ratios, and a power adjustable steering wheel, how could you not find it a blast to drive. For safety features, you can also find automatic wipers, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, a driver attention monitor, rear cross traffic alert, automatic high beams, and more.

Under the hood of the Stinger are two possible engines. The first engine is a 2-liter turbocharged inline-4 with 255 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque capability. The second engine is a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with a capability to produce up to 365 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The inline-4 engine is capable of reaching an EPA estimated fuel economy of 22 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway. The V6 engine has an EPA estimated fuel economy of 19 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway. Both of these two engines come matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The first engine is available in either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, while the second engine is available in the all-wheel drive. Overall the Stinger is capable of hitting sixty miles per hour from a standstill in just 4.7 seconds. With the V6 maxed at its full potential, the Kia Stinger is capable of reaching up to 167 miles per hour. Its transmission utilizes a Centrifugal Pendulum Absorber torque converter that helps to keep torsional vibrations at a minimum.
